UPDATE 03/25/08 OK, here is the latest update; Rat Town will be releasing an LP from Italy's DEATH BEFORE WORK! If you're not familiar with the band, they mix hardcore, thrash and blast-beats with some sick breakdowns. Absolutely brutal. This will be a limited 1 sided LP. A split label release, Rat Town will be handling the US distribution of this LP. The record should be in our hands late spring. In the meantime check their Myspace site for some tracks off the LP. DEATH BEFORE WORK - The newest addition to the RAT TOWN RECORDS label. They are a fuckin' raging Italian thrash/hardcore band. They are on tour in Europe right now. We hope to get the band to the US in the near future. The LEGBONE/GOONS split 7" is down to a few copies. Get the ep before it goes out of print.

Rat Town Records started in a small one room apartment in 1992 as a source to help release, promote and distribute records for local punk/hardcore bands. The DIY ethics of the label/distro will remain the driving force behind keeping Rat Town alive. The underground punk/hardcore movement for the lack of a better word has always relied on its own labels/bands/zines etc. to keep going. Rat Town is proud to be a part of this movement. The recent years have produced most of the releases on the label, and the distro catalog has doubled in size in the last year alone. With the addition of this web-site to help with promotion and distribution, the label will be taking steps towards reaching a broader range of people around the world. We are dedicated to keeping the prices as low as possible. If you don't see anything you want, get in touch, chances are we can get what you are looking for. Cheers, Dan |
